Our highly successful audio class is proudly featured by the Brooklyn Public Library, a cornerstone of educational excellence and a deeply trusted community institution. 


Our lead instructor, Tiffany "The Talk of the Town" (also known as Dj Lady T) is a radio industry veteran with extensive broadcasting experience at leading media companies and radio stations including Cox Media, Walt Disney World, WQHT HOT97, WBLS 107.5 FM and National Public Radio. 



Learning Objectives 

Participants will gain proficiency in: 

Understanding basic audio principles: Learn about sound waves, frequency, amplitude, and how they relate to audio recording.

Operating recording equipment: Hands-on experience with various microphones and audio interfaces. 

Utilizing Digital Audio Workstations: Introduction to user-friendly software for recording, editing, and mixing audio (e.g., Audacity, Adobe, or similar).

Audio editing techniques: Trimming, cutting, fading, and arranging audio clips to create a cohesive project.

Adding sound effects and music: Enhancing audio projects with royalty-free sound libraries and background music.

Basic mixing and mastering concepts: Adjusting volume levels, panning, and applying simple effects for a polished sound.

Storytelling through sound: Developing narratives and conveying emotions using audio elements.

Exporting and sharing audio projects: Preparing final audio files for various platforms.
